Why does my windows 98 internet explorer keep giving me an error when trying to open e-mail?

I just downloaded internet explorer 6 and it was doing this before, but whenever you try to open e-mail it says that explorer has performed an illegal something or other. The problem is most likely with your email program. You can try uninstalling it and reinstalling, downloading a newer version, or even better, install a different email program. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
