You have a very low alcohol tolerance. There are numerous factors in determining tolerance for alcohol including, food and digestion, body weight, strength of the drink, body type and even gender differences. I would suspect you are female and are quite small in stature these two factors alone will have a measurable effect on how fast and how much alcohol it will take to make one 'queasy' or 'functionally impaired'.
Here is a BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) calculator ~>erie.gov/stopdwi/bac_calculator.asp This BAC calculator will help you better understand how much and how fast alcohol is entering you bloodstream and effecting the way you feel.
You say you use to drink frequently. Now you take one sip and you get queezy? Do you now take any medication?
How long has it been since you have drank? These make some difference. You could have developed an allergy to alcohol, or you could have a much more serious underlying problem.
I believe you should bring this symptom to your physician. This is not a minor symptom. One sip should not make you queezy.
One drink or even a half, but not one sip. I was a practitioner in the medical field for a long time until an physical accident disabled me and I could practice no longer. Please go so your doctor and maybe discuss other symptoms you might not realize are related.
