Why does the quran tell people to 'kill the unbelievers wherever you find them'?

Following verses are used to prove that Islam is a violent religion: Surah 9. At-Tawba (Repentance, Dispensation) 5. But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

6. If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah. And then escort him to where he can be secure.

That is because they are men without knowledge. This is a situation of war and not a normal sitiuation. The pagans had broken a peace treaty with the muslims.

The war is a result of this. But why many of them do not quote verse 6 which says Grant them asylum if they ask for it And not only this also escort them to a secure place. Let us see in the same situation of war what Bible says: 1 Samuel 15:2-4 2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ***. 4 And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah. Bible clearly says that to kill Man,Women and even Children who are innocent.

That is why many Muslims seek lives in western cultures where there is less chaos.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
