Why does Yahoo Answers allow users to vote for their own answers?

They may want to get more votes for the questions that are undecided. Some users exploit this feature; they create crappy answers and later on they go and vote for their answer. Some guys even get, say 70% Best Answers in this way Yahoo Answers does not allow answers like "thanks for 2 points" or "yes/no" So some are smarter and give a random one line answer like "Yes, my opinion is that cannot work", which are at the borderline of the rules and technically are allowed.

They they rush to vote for their own answers. Yahoo prevents team voting but I don't think they handle the situation I just described. I usually don't vote for my answers.

I let others decide. However, after I saw that others, with crappy and wrong answers abused of their privilege, or simply because I thought my answer is much better and correct,I started myself to vote for my own. But I do it very rarely, in extreme cases.

If I understand Yahoo answers correctly, it is mainly set up just to get an answer. The people answering benefit by being able to add their personal links to the answers and perhaps drive more traffic to their site, or just simply answer a question. There is no money that gets paid out from Yahoo, and therefore is not as elaborate as Mahalo.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
