Lower Mississippi/Louisiana Border The reason the boundry of the State of Mississippi does not follow the Mississippi River to it's mouth goes back to the sequence in which the United States acquired various territories. The territory north of the coastal counties in the States of Mississippi and Alabama was part of the original United States territory ceded from England at the end of the Revolutionary War. The City of New Orleans and other Parishes east of the Mississippi River near the mouth was part of the French Louisiana Territory and was not acquired until the Louisiana Purchase under President Jefferson.
This area was left as part of Louisiana Title to what is now the coastal counties of Mississippi and Alabama was disputed. The United States argued that these counties were French territory and were included in the Louisiana Purchase. Spain argued that these territories were part of Spanish Florida.
The matter was settled in the 1820s when the United States acquired Florida from Spain When the United State organized these new territories in to States, New Orleans and near by Parishes east of the River, were left as part of the State of Louisiana. That part of Florida between the Perdido River (the western Alabama/Florida border) and the Pearl River (the lower Louisiana/Mississippi border) were cut off from the Louisiana Territory or the Florida Territory, depending on which claim was valid and made part of the Mississippi and Alabama Territories to give the access to the coastal trade.
LSU -- No. 9 USA Today; Mississippi State -- No. 22 AP, No.
LSU has won 19 of the last 20 meetings and 12 in a row in Baton Rouge. State and Vanderbilt are the SEC teams Les Miles has never lost to. Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen declines to reveal injuries.
Three in three of those outings. Dodge pressure this week. To get on the field for the Tigers.
Having a solid season with 804 rushing yards and 8 TDs. Spin in the driver's seat with three consecutive games with 100 yards or more. Legs and diverse skills.
Too many weapons for the Tigers. Their spots for every game this season. Produce have been so-so overall, especially considering the watered-down schedule the Bulldogs faced until the last two weeks.
Rushed for 47 and 98 yards, averaging just over 3 yards a carry combined. Starters from when the season began. That closes the gap in this category for sure.
Green is a nice option in the shorter passing scheme with 17 catches and 5 TDs. The last three weeks. Not really very close here.
Been a strong part of a solid defense. The SEC), while opponents average 4.5 yards per carry on the ground. Especially rugged for the Bulldogs and Perkins.
And several freshmen. And most of his day's work came in the first half. McCarron to 165 yards last week.
With the secondary accounting for 10 of those. Have one of the top defenses in the country. Showed some life on punt returns.
And week out. For now, though, State is better. In their favor this week.
Anywhere close to last week, that's a huge edge. Confidence has to be egg-shell fragile. A Sugar Bowl berth if LSU takes care of business the last three weeks.
Not something the Bulldogs have as a carrot at the end of their stick. First time: Mopey, uninspired and awkward. On the confidence-builder from last week.
The Tigers' defense makes the second half miserable for Russell and Co.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
