Many companies employ ex hackers to try and outsmart the new ones. The problem is that whatever rules you make or barriers you build, someone will always try and often succeed in breaking them.
Because the focus is totally different. Software developers are focused on providing a system that is functional and efficient and hopefully will work in conjunction with security measures. Hackers are totally focused on exploiting the weaknesses of the system.
Every system has weaknesses which are generally generated by compromise to gain speed, efficiency, or functionality. If developers spent all their time trying to outthink hackers, they would never get their product developed. WB.
I believe hackers are inventors and organizers too. The only difference is that hackers have wrong intent.
