Your forms contain grappling, like joint locks, trap, chocks etc. all forms do even the most basic one that would look like for instance all down blocks, contains grappling many instructors don't realize what is in there own style regardless of rank. Its not that they are a mcdojo or mc dojang, its the lack of the instructors understanding of there style. Many styles weakness are more do to the way they are taught, and not the style it self.
Because of the popularity of MMA, the current generation of "martial artists" feel as if they have to train like professional cage fighters in order to make their training valid. If you feel that your training is lacking in those areas, then seek other training. Or just learn how to apply your current training in a variety of other situations.
Continue to independently research, and train with fighters from other methods or schools of thought; this will help fill in the gaps and give you experience in the practical aspects of your art. The Taekwondo/Hapkido combination is a very effective combinataion for real world self defense/combat.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
