It's reality TV / Court TV. There may be some "acting" to make things more interesting, but those are real court cases with real defendants, plaintiffs, and consequences, and she is a real judge. You can submit your case to her at her website, judgejudy.com.So, she's not eligible for a daytime drama Emmy.
Daytime drama Emmys are for soap operas, like All My Children, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, etc. You know, the dramas that are on during the day in which there are 10 stories happening at once, somebody's in a coma, and nothing really happens in one episode. She would qualify for the outstanding legal courtroom program award, but not the drama award. She has had 14 nominations (I was corrected on this information; I previously posted that she didn't qualify at all).
Given this information that I previously did not know, I will have to direct you to buddawiggi's answer: the board simply thought other nominees were better. You can read all about Judge Judy and how she ended up with a television show here: http://www.judgejudy.com/profiles_of_justice.php.She was approached about doing the television show after an appearance on 60 Minutes, and she made the decision to do the show because she saw it as an opportunity to spread her no-nonsense message to more people every day. She has also written several books that you may be interested in.

The National Television Academy and the people who judge these and select the winners have though that Judge Judy was not worthy of an Emmy ...simple as that. Judge Judy's competition is better then Judge Judy according to those who award the Emmys.
Here's the thing; she is not acting. She is a real judge and these are real people. They deal with real events and everything.
I know this becuase my husband was trying to sue a man that broke his jaw about seven years ago, and he called her. She wanted to take his case but she said her allotted amount to give the plaintiff was $5000 and she thought he deserved more than that. So she is legit!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
