The republicans don't want to fail like they did the last time President Obama spoke to them. Sad really... Then we'll hear the repub's complaining about how Obama isn't transparent enough.
To answer your question, no the Republicans do not have any clear ideas on health care at all. The primary function during the past year has been to block the progress of health care reform by bogging down, confusing and lying to the American public through such stories as death panels, funding for abortions, Obama wants to kill old people etc. Now Obama has responded to his critics because he did say that he was going to televise these health care debates on CSPAN and has yet to do so - so he is now fulfilling that promise and is attempting to get Republicans who are willing to contribute to a nonpartisan bill together. However the Republicans were not betting on that, they were hoping to ride out the block for as long as possible by pointing out the health care discussions we going on without their input and that it was a horrible bill etc. Now they have their chance to contribute and they have nothing so hence they need a scape goat - the trap.
Obama now wants to trap them, trap them in what? Is he going to be waiting in the conference room with a knife or something (as Linda ignorantly said)? Nope he just wants to show the American people that the stories they have been told by many right wing politicians and media sources was all pure B/S - I am just hoping for him to own them as hard as he did during their last sit down together.
I say call them out lay the facts on the table and then we will see who is really conspiring, lying and misleading in this country - here's a hint it is not the Democrats.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
