The temperature of air molecules is proportional to the AVERAGE kinetic energy of the molecules, not to how many there are. When you take an average of something you divide by the total number of things, so just having more molecules does not raise the temperature. Maxx still doesn't have a clue about how the greenhouse effect works.
Here is a quote from him: "Nitrogen and oxygen absorb shortwave radiation, rather than infrared (longwave radiation) and shortwave radiation contains more energy. " So his "argument" is that if you block some the energy that would have made it to the Earth's surface, you make the Earth's surface warmer! Huh?
Having a little trouble following that reasoning Maxx. According to your reasoning, think how warm the surface would be if you blocked ALL the energy coming in! We could put a big opaque shell around the planet instead of an atmosphere and the perpetual darkness would heat up the planet in your world.
Here's another quote from him: "Earth's atmosphere would still reach a temperature of about 255 kelvin (-18c) without any Greenhouse Gases whatsoever." Well, the Earth's SURFACE would reach that temperature, but only the atmosphere at the lowest level (in contact with the surface) would be at that temperature. If somehow you were to take away the planet and just keep the transparent atmosphere, it wouldn't be anywhere near that temperature.
While atmospheric gases do absorb some of the sun's shortwave radiation, they are mostly transparent to it--that's why we can see through it! Take away the planet, which is opaque to solar radiation, and what you would have would be a ball of gas that would be nowhere near 255 K, since most solar radiation would just go sailing right on through it. He also seems to be missing the most important point about what he is saying, and which is stressed over and over by actual scientists--that without the greenhouse effect Earth would be a frozen planet.
I guess that's why young Earth creationists don't make the best scientists.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
