First of all...children believe in everything. It just depends on who their example is. Thank goodness most of us have grown up and learned to think for ourselves.
If jesus brought children gifts, they'd pay more attention to him too. They are children. They are born selfish.
But its ok, because they have their whole lives to do for others. Its not an issue. The issue is everyone crying over it all the time.
He doesn't tell you he's going to send you to hell.
He let's you talk and talk and talk and Santa just listens and listens and listens...then he gives you gifts.
Santa just seems like a lot nicer person than God. :).
It is the opposite. People believe in Santa Claus only when they are children. They give up that childish belief way before they are ten.
But most people hold onto the childish belief in "god" for all their lives.
Some people may want to believe in Satan because the Devil offeres you what you think you want to take your soul. THe offer sound good, but in the long run you loose. GOD wants you to follow rules and regulations that require sacrifice.
The ego gets in the way and may lead some on a path that just opens the door for the devil to come and find the person.
It is hard to avoid the lust of the world, that is "Satan's" tool. It is the weekness in most people. Lust for things leads to greed, and unfilled greed leads to anger, that anger then may lead to violence, and the you have four your devil in you.
From birth, we have a natural affinity to the things of this world, mainly because of "The Fall" of Adam. Santa Claus at Christmastide, just like Peter Cottontail at Eastertide, are both secular icons misrepresenting sacred, holy days in Christian faith and culture. However, until one experiences a new birth in Christ, by believing in their heart unto righteousness and confessing with their mouth unto salvation, they will not experience the freedom in Jesus Christ, the living, Anointed One who is the embodiment of Christmas, Crucifixion and Resurrection: born to set s people free by dying on a cross as the sin offering in our place, yet is risen and lives forever.
Jesus' whole point by coming that first Christmas was to restore us to God, just as it was in the "Pre-Fall", before Adam ever sinned. Often, we do not accept m because we think it is too hard to follow yet He promises that his yoke is easy, and light, If we but make It is really hard to live in faith when we are more comfortable with that which we can see. Thus, we learn to trust the tangible rather than the spiritual, which by the way, is the source of everything tangible. So, in answer to your question, our sin nature, inherited from Adam, yields a predisposition to selfishness, covetousness, pride, etc. Thank God for the second Adam, Jesus Christ, who reconciles us to unbroken, right relationship with God, our Father.
I think it's a matter of perspective. I think far more people believe in God than in Santa, and I don't think there is anything wrong in knowing a lot about the world.
You are free to believe whatever you choose to, the truth will prevail over all things. All I know is that for God I live and for God I will die, He blesses and keeps me daily...
I think the generation coming don't believe in religion anymore because it's outdated. I don't believe in it because I found my answers and about the question there is no Satan, it's a matter of balance and evil things tend to look havier in that balance than good things. But that's wrong any bad thing may be equaled with a good thing.
Man always compare them self to God. (dumb to me for all man time is short no matter how great they try to make themselves) who is the All and All thing came from God. The bible tell you how to live and if you don,t judgement will come ( and it will on May 21, 2011) for man thinking that they are greater than the one thats the All for man can,t even make soil.
Man is now well most man is into self worshiping thinking is all them and giving God no credit. Man even lie to them self with this theory of creation with made up time line and no facts just to make people think there no God. Oh well.
All man will soon find out. Perpare for judgement day on May 21, 2011 and tell God then that you are greater than he thats All. Me.
I pray for the Lord grace and blessing to be save of this rotten flesh for no matter how man take care of there body when we die and we all will our body start to rot so show the rotteness of man. Only by God Grace can we be save from our bodies and what we do with our bodies to hurt other for our own benifit.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
