Because fiscal responsibility sends chills up the spine of progressives.
The difference is that republicans are only focused on cutting spending deeply. That's okay but that leaves the real needs of the country behind. Just because we have a debt problem is doesn't mean you stop spending in areas of education and infrastructure, and other obligations that the government holds like social security and medicare.
Realistically, both parties have to come together and figure out a way that spending cuts and tax increases will push our debt crisis in the right direction. Obama's budget proposes a way to do both. I also don't like where Obama plans to cut but I am sure that will change as the debate over the budget begins.
This problem is not going to be solved on spending cuts alone and I hope the republicans realize this. So, the indications are that they don't understand this by the rhetoric I have been hearing. This could get ugly.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
