I do think that the label eccentric is not just rich people, but people who acts different from most of the people but show something special in either artistic talents, writing, or other fields. We label someone eccentric because despite his or her "weirdness", she does have to show for it. Crazy people just act randomly, without any substance to back them up.
Granted these two terms are very much overlap. Jung, the famous psychologist, described himself as experiencing psychosis so we can say that he WAS crazy too. In the case of rich people, or I should say, succesful people, we call them eccentric because they already have proven themselves somewhat, despite their "weirdness" while with the poor people, we cannot see what they have accomplished with their behavior and so we label them "crazy.

I believe the bigger difference lies in whether or not the mental illness is endearing to others. A poor woman who talks to herself may be called "eccentric" if she says only nice things about people and gives away flowers as she mumbles to herself. On the other hand, Brittney Spears is filthy rich but we were okay calling her "crazy" because we didn't find her child endangerment escapades very cute.
The rich are often able to put a nice PR spin on their behavior, and they are also able to afford the treatment that helps take the edge off their behavior. I certainly don't think they're immune from being called crazy though.
Crazy people go to jail, eccentric people go to private hospitals behind rich lawyers. Also crazy people hurt other people, eccentric people just act different.
Maybe the rich have press agents and the poor have social workers.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
