Why is it that brides wear white wedding gowns?

My real name's John, but everyone called me Johnny when I was younger. When I was about 5 years old, I asked my mommy, "Mommy, why do brides wear white? " She said, "Well you see here Johnny, that's because brides represent purity, virtue, and innocence, and white symbolizes those qualities."

This sounded pretty convincing, but I wanted to ask my father just to be sure. "Daddy," I said "why do brides wear white? Mommy says it's because brides are innocent and pure and white symbolizes that.Is that true?

Why do brides wear white? " "Well, you see son, it's not actually because of that." "Why do they wear white then? " "That's simply the standard color of all kitchen appliances.

" of course, this was just a joke and that never happened to me--I hope all you ladies don't get offended, as it was just a joke!
