It's typical in the US that people think the purpose of school is not to get an education, but to make friends and socialize. That's the problem with our educational system.
Unfortunately it's a stigma that was attached to homeschooling a long time ago. And not matter how much we tell people that it isn't the case, you simply can't convince them. The fact that my family (4 homeschooled daughters) are part of a christian homeshcooling group of over 120 families that get together at least once or twice a week means nothing.
The fact that my children are still involved in school sports means nothingThe fact that we probably have more outings with children their age than most public schooled families means nothing. Let's not forget that we can accompish in 3-4 hours what it takes the public school system 7-8 hours to do. So we get lots of free time for crafts and play!
You are so right. I tell people and they just walk away. :(.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
