I do agree with you on this. If Libertarians managed to take hold of the GOP we might see a more libertarian government. For a long time the GOP was actually conservative but they have been moving away from that.

The Republican Party could use more Ron Pauls and Barry Goldwaters. Even though I disagree with Ron Paul on economic policy I could find myself voting for him; he's honest and I have a lot of respect for true Libertarians. They're true to their small government rhetoric and they raise some good points.

Haha yeah. My dad likes to think hes a conservative republican but hes an agnostic gay marriage supporter ho tends to side with liberals on the social issues. I keep telling him he libertarian but he takes that as an insult for some reason.

Honestly though I think both groups benefit from the confusion. Alot of people who are clearly Republican conservatives claim to be libertarians when the republicans are unpopular. Like Glenn Beck for instance.

On the other hand there are a lot of self proclaimed moderate republicans who would support a libertarian movement if they just knew what libertarianism was.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
