Why is there so much money and food in the world, and yet people are starving in the 21st century?

There are claims that food production methods like genetic engineering are supposed to keep the costs of food down, but in reality they keep profit up more than anything else. Special interest groups have influenced laws that make food production for the everyday farmer more difficult. When you break it down, healthy nutritious food is barely accessible to anyone, while processed junk fills store shelves.

Many poor countries thrived until they were introduced to bad farming practices which wiped out their crops. I say healthy food, because people are dying all over the world from starvation, but the prepackaged crap which makes us sick isn't the answer.

There is only one answer to this and that is greed! There is enough in this world to feed everyone, but there are people who always want more than their fare share! Also keeping up the price of food for profit is more important to business than a starving child!

Everyone is entitled to food water and shelter. In our world there is plenty to go around. It upsets me so much that there are people in the world dying of starvation and don't have access to clean drinking water.

There is so much waste. I know someone who works in a very large supermarket in the UK and says that they have a skip outside and each night, the shelves are cleared of food that may go out of date in the next day or so and it is just binned. It's a disgrace and absolutely criminal.

This should not be allowed to happen in the 21st century.

The problems exist first in refrigertation, shipment and then, finally, in delivery. As Americans, we have much........we ship much........but as time passes, food grows old, looses value.......we contain, refrigerate and finally ship. There are receptients, who can not or WILL NOT, protect, ship and distributate, in a timely manner.

, There ARE leaders of recieving nations, that withhold our generosity from those who are in need,. Today, it is not gold, silver of even OIL, which can starve or enrich the masses............it is FOOD. PLEASE, stop thinking that the modern day struggles ( wars) are about oil...............they are about FOOD.In the UsofA.........we have much, and we ship most of it......................ask the 2nd and 3rd world leaders, WHY are your people hungry, when food has been sent?

Go, ahead, ask them................ask them, WHY are Americans going to bed hungry,when YOU have been sent food...............yes, ask them this........why are WE sacrificing, our own, so that you can become a fat cat.............DARE to ask that! ASK them............WHO ate this food?............ASK THEM! Do not challenge me , because, I did not send "enough"..............I sent plenty.

We will never be able to answer a question about the stomach by thinking with our minds, when in fact the problem is in our heart. ,Yes, our hearts, as we are all connected and collectively we permit this because we have not yet settled the dispute within!

If every rich person knows the extent of happiness when he gives and sees the happiness on others' facesThen, you will never find anybody starving.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
