Why isn't Willie Nelson the king of country?

In the 1950's, country star Roy Acuff was awarded the title, "King of Country Music." No male in country music would ever take this title because of their great respect for Roy. It's the same for the female country singers.

Kitty Wells was awarded the title, "Queen of Country Music," also in the 1950's. No other female in country music would take the title, for their respect for Kitty. Also, even the female singers of today will tell you, "If it wasn't for Kitty Wells kicking down the doors to give women the rights they have in the music field.
