We came along at a time when TV was already here. At least when I was born it was here. The computers were here but everyday people did not have them in their homes.At one time only big businesses had them in their offices.

Some small businesses too. Computers were very costly too.No one could afford one. But way before TV and computer people listened to the radio instead.

If you remember the show the "Waltons" That is what they did for entertainment. Children got outside and got fresh air from running and jumping. But nowadays schools no longer have recess and Playstation,XBOX 360,Nintendo.

Are computer games that have taken the place of fresh air. Many of us who came after the invention of TV may not know what to do without it. Because many of us do not know what it is like not having one.

Like your answer... yeah, make sense. I prefer, no TV and computer like old days to have a good life... with these techology waste people times and lives... but good to have time once a while. Foodtable 15 months ago .

I do not own a television. If I had a TV i'd most likely never watch it unless to play old DVDs. Most programming today will turn your mind to an obedient disciple of borg if you watch enough it.

The Amish would not watch it for religious reasons. Other people who eschew it have more common sense.

Ty, I get carried away with the borg conspiracy type stuff but they do call it the 'boob tube' for a reason. At least the net allows you the choice of being interactive, that is better than allowing your mind to turn to mush when you zone out in front of the tv.

Although there are people who say that they "can't" live without TV, cell phones, computers or whatever, it is really that they don't *want* to live without them. For people who seriously eschew electronics, there are communities where you can live without them. However, I think if you live in a regular house in a regular neighborhood and have a regular job, it would be difficult to find a way to live without TV and computer.

Cultures or groups of people who choose to live without these things find other ways to keep up with events and communicate... A lot of it is habit, too. Katherine .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
