He shouldn't be defended, and I don't care that the story is 34 years old, it shows his true character, and there can't be many of us who are surprised at his appalling manners.
He doesn't have to be defended. This was a private letter to a friend and he was completely peed off with New Zealanders insulting him by laughing when he fell off his horse. Slings and arrows of outrageous fortune?
Don't know, but to say this happened a very long time ago is an understatement. I don't think this letter is much of a secret. It is, after all, up for auction.
If New Zealanders are touchy about it, maybe they should have laughed less at him at the time!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
