Why would someone that is eating Atkins (induction) less than 20 carbs, gain weight?

By finally allowing yourself to satisfy your cravings without sabotaging your diet, you can keep the weight you lose off for good, saving yourself hundreds and even thousands of dollars in the process Get it now!

My fieance has been doing low carb for 2 weeks, ghest carb day was about 25 grams of carbs. She lost about 4 pounds at first, but then gain that back, plus about 5 more, for a total of about a 9 pound gain after she lost the 4 pounds (in the first few days). I realize that much of that first weight loss is h20, but why would she gain all that weight when she is still on low carb, she is eating frequently, in reasonable portions, of high quality meats.

Salt While most of the carbs have been given up, what about the salts. Salt makes you retain fluid. Some people when they drastically change their diet find that foods that normally don't bother them start too.

The salt maybe causing her to retain far too much fluid, just cut back on it. She may not be salting her food, but what she is eating may contain a high amount. It also depends on the types of carbs that she is ingesting.

If they are complex carbs from grains she isn't doing too bad, but if it is she is wasting her carbs on a small sugar fix, it could be causing problems. I would check into the salt content first though. Hope that this helped.

Good Luck.

Keep at it I did Atkins and lost 35 lbs. First you have to put your body into ketosis before the weight starts falling off. Most importantly, EXERCISE!

This means walking or running at least 4-5 times per week for at least 40 minutes each time. I would also recommend some of the Fiber powder that you can stir into water. Just keep doing it and stick to it..

Calories She is eating more calories than she needs. I've been on the Atkins and I realize that my weight loss comes from the fact that after a couple of days I can't stand to eat just meat anymore, and my food intake goes to almost nothing. A 4 oz serving of lean beef (a Whopper or Quarter-Pounder patty size)--broiled and plain--has 225 calories.

Most people on Atkins eat way more than 4 ounces of lean, plain meat per meal. She could be eating 3,000 calories a day or more. Calorie counts for meat..

It's all about total calories, not carbs. Atkins works because reducing carbs tends to reduce calories. So you can reduce your carbs all you want -- if your total calories don't go down you won't lose weight.

You can also reduce calories by burning them, ie, exercise.

You are not gonna believe this I have probably done every diet known to man, including low carb (which has worked for me), but my guess in your situation is that she is not getting enough food and her body is in starvation mode. What happens is that when you deprive your body of sufficient calories (including sufficient carbs) your body senses that you have lower than maintenance intake so it hoards everything that it can. Believe it or not, anorexics have some of the highest bodyfat percentages around.

Go to burnthefatfeedthemuscle.com and read all of that stuff. This really works and is very safe and sensible also.

" "How many carbs in stick of gum. If I'm on the adkins diet" "will eating too much protein make you gain weight?" "how many carbs per day can you eat on the atkins diet.

How many carbs in stick of gum. If I'm on the adkins diet.

How many carbs per day can you eat on the atkins diet.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
