You philosophers are making simple things seem complicated. Even a moron can understand that God created the planet and placed us here. He owns the planet.
He makes the rules. Morality is among His rules and that is how it should be. If you created the world you would have the right to make the rules for living here.
I don't really see any connection between morality and the belief in the divine. For one thing you can be both moral and an atheist/agnostic. I know some very moral atheist and agnostics.
The belief in morals does not necessitate the belief in God or a god. And yes, morality is definitely objective. Also there is no real standard for what is moral and what is not.
The only way we can get society moving in terms of morality is by accepting what is considered to be for the common good and that is morality within a society generally works. However, not everyone is going to agree with what society has accepted and those individuals will commit acts against the greater mass and be looked at as deviants for they deviated away from what society has considered to be "good".
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
