No, I don't think that the Foursquare and Gowalla would end with the coming out of Facebook Places. According to techcrunch, Facebook is partnering to both Foursquare and Gowalla which implies that they should help one another in making this Places API successful. And I am sure, this is also an advantage to both Foursquare and Gowalla since we know that Facebook has 500M users and is still counting.
Hmm, thinking about the popularity of Facebook and the number of users that they have which is still growing, it should make these guys so excited. This is a clear win-win situation. "Representatives from both Gowalla and Foursquare were invited to take the stage at the event to talk about how they plan to leverage Facebook’s new Places API.
Both will allow you to check-in and publish the data to your Facebook feed. Your badges and pins from each of those apps will transfer over as well. As we expected, Facebook is playing nice with these guys — and they’re clearly excited to play nicely back given Facebook’s 500 million users.
Yelp and Booyah (maker of MyTown) are also launch partners for this new API. Booyah is actually making a new app called InCrowd build on the Places API. WIth Yelp, you’ll be able to transfer your check-ins both to and from Facebook as well.
The Facebook Places announcement had Foursquare, Gowalla and Yelp on stage to discuss Facebook Places API and how they will integrate Facebook within their services. It will be quite interesting to see how this plays out.
I really don’t think the addition of Facebook Places as the location tagging service of Facebook will in no way affect the other social networks. Foresquare and Gowalla did have this feature first before Facebook but that just helped in the planning for Facebook. I heard that when Facebook announced this new feature today, they even mentioned Foresquare and Gowalla.
All the social networks would benefit by all having this feature as kind of a sharing feature. I do wonder when Facebook adds this Facebook Places if it will be as good at it as Gowalla is. I’ve used Gowalla on my Pad and find it very beneficial and pretty darn accurate.
Of course all of it will only work of your friends actually input where they are located and use the service.
Definitely Facebook places is a new competitor of Foursquare, Gowalla, Yelp, Booyah, Google and other location-based services providers in the market. When a real giant competitor enters into the existing market, it takes some share from the existing players (services providers) and also expand the market share and opportunity by its unique marketing activities, program and campaign. Likewise Facebook Places will take some share from Foursquare, Gowalla, Google, Yelp and Booyah, but will NOT take ALL the share of Foursquare, Gowalla, Google, Yelp and Booyah.
The new location tagging service offered by the social media giant Facebook places will not be able to kill other location-based services providers such as Foursquare or Gowalla or Google or Yelp or Booyah. Facebook Places was introduced by the giant Facebook on Wednesday. Facebook Places is now its own location-sharing program that had been rumored for long.
The new program "Facebook Places" for mobile phones will lets its users "share where they are with girl friends / boy friends, etc. The addition of Facebook Places first for Apple's iPhone may have a huge reverse impact on Foursquare, the leading location-sharing site but will not kill it. Because, only Foursquare has been registering more than one million "check-ins" per week and has more than two million active users. So, all of this two million users of Foursquare will not stop using Foursquare and jump to Facebook Places suddenly.
It might lessen the opportunity for smaller competitors to really get traction, but I don't think it's going to mean the end of the line for Foursquare or Gowalla. I think the "hardcore" check-in addicts are still very focused on getting their badges, becoming mayor, etc, and will find Facebook Places to be a less gratifying experience. I'm betting that they'll all find a way to co-exist with one another, even if Facebook did just take a portion of their market.
Status updates on Facebook didn't kill Twitter and the Facebook Marketplace didn't kill Kijiji or Craigslist. I think this situation is comparable.
I don't think that the Foursquare and Gowalla would quit with the coming out of Facebook Places. The new location tagging service offered by Facebook places will not be able to kill other location-based services providers such as Foursquare or Gowalla or Google or Yelp or Booyah.
No facebook won't replace nobody facebook will be replaced. Facebook is going to start charging to use the service, play games ect. If you notice you have or might not have a facebook credits tab top right corner.
Well be prepared to eventually have to pay. Sites already came up with a solution and are paying users to switch to a pay per whatever you post site Get paid for chatting sidetick.com/signup.php?signup_referer=5....
I think with the release of Facebook Places you will see Fourscore and Gowalla loose some of their hold in the market. I have never used the Gowalla or fourscore apps, sites or what ever there are, as I do not have an iPad, I Pod or anything of the sort. I have noticed that web sites and especially the games web sites loose their standing when Facebook comes up with an app.
This social networking site does have more pull on it than most people can imagine or realize. People love the convenience of the site, its one place they can have fun with family, friends, play games, and check locations. Yeah I am sure the other sites will falter when facebook opens their app.
Even though facebook places had far more users at it's launch, it's still missing all the fun of Foursquare and Gowalla! Yes, Facebook Places may be more social, allowing people who don't even have smartphones to be included, but Foursquare allows you to really be involved in what's going on. You can see who else is there, earn points, become the mayor, it's more of a game than you'd think, and after using both, facebook places just seems boring.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
