The better part of 1 million people escaping an armed conflict is not a migration , it's people fleeing for their lives most of whom would go back home if there was no conflict. The reason they are going to European countries is because , Europe is just a few miles away and the EU has a policy for accepting refugees. If they are fleeing in rubber rafts and derelict boats seems a much better choice than trying to make it to NA.
A million refugees in a continent that has 750 million people won't even make a dent in the demographics of Europe. Many of these people are Christians , they are the ones most likely to be killed by ISIS. No war has ever been won in the air, it takes boots on the ground to do that.
The US is conflicted by this, ISIS is attacking Syria, the US will not support the Syrian regime or appear to under any circumstances. The US would draw more criticism from the electorate if it sent in troops on the ground and could only do so if it violated Syrian sovereignty. ISIS is a barbarian state, beheadings are not that uncommon in the middle East , the Saudis use the practice they just don't post the events on U tube.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
