Will the GAO report on our government's $billions of waste solve the budget debate?

The reports may expose some redundant efforts but I doubt that the GAO is in any position to necessarily confront any particular government program as waste. In the end, they will turn up one or two hundred billion in redundancy but it will be peanuts in the long line of necessary steps which must be taken to resolve our financial problems. The federal government must reduced in size and scope. It must significantly reduce its payroll while not tampering with our military might or national security.

Think about it in this manner...everytime Obama appoints another "czar" of some particular effort, he creates a high paying six-figured salaried position which requires yet another staff and system of agencies to carry out the desires of this appointee...the entire process takes on a life of its own. In making the appointment, the President exercises his power to do so outside the approval of Congress and those who control the purse strings. That behavior must stop.

It is not condoned in any business enterprise that makes a profit in America and follows any business logic. The size of government like the size of business must be regulated by the revenue stream and be proportional to it over time.WB.

The sevices would be the same but how many jobs would be lost by doing this. It's kind of a no-win situation right now due to the fact that a lot of money is already spent by the folks working in these jobs.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
