Will the Palm Pre cause a legal dispute with Apple over multitouch technology?

Actually I think that both Palm and Apple licensed their "multi-touch" technologies from third parties. Not to mention it's difficult to patent something like this. The only thing you can actually patent is the technology behind this.

I forget why but you can't patent the actually gestures used. I read several articles on this and there is no clear consensus. I'm looking forward to seeing the other answers.

My understanding is that multitouch technology is not owned by apple.

It's hard to say just yet. Once the product comes out, we'll know if there have been any patent or IP infringements. If Apple thinks that's the case, they'll most definitely pursue Pre.

I'm sure Palm's lawyers went on lengths to figure out which patents Apple filed for iPhone/iPod Touch, and be sure not to infringe. So, as soon as a demo unit is available, or enough info is released, we'll hear more activity on various blogs, and opinion sites. Also, some movement around both Apple and Palm camps.

:).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
