The death of a family member and the subsequent grieving process can be overwhelming for some. I think the kindest thing to do for your family, is to plan your funeral ahead of time. That would be one less thing that they would have to worry about during that stressful time.
I know of some people that have made all their funeral arrangements and they are fairly young and very healthy. There have also been many people that plan their funerals when they become ill. This is a very good question and something to think about as you age.
What I'm going to do is tell them what I want ... that way there is no fuss and no confusion. So they know I want to be cremated, I want a very small funeral and I want my ashes kept in the box ( not an urn that's expensive to buy ). My Mum's ashes are sitting on the mantelpiece. No expensive plot or nameplate, no expensive coffin or anything like that, and keep my ashes at home in the black box they give you at the funeral place.... Easy, simple and geez!
I won't really care by then anyway right? Just do what they can and no big thing....
I think it is best to plan your own for a couple reasons. You don't leave your loved ones with that unneeded stress, you can have the funeral arragements you desire, and also you know how much money it will cost and can prepare for that too.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
