I liked the first one the best.........................
The original has a greater re-watchability, in my opinion. Depp, a great actor in many kinds of roles, nevertheless seemed to be playing the character ironically, instead of authentically. Or maybe I felt he was mocking the character instead of truly inhabiting it.
Wilder, also a great actor, brought his own famous warmth to Wonka. Depp and Burton, predictably, went for an edgy, creepy feel. The original seems more kid-friendly without being patronizing.
I too would have to say the original is my favorite. Even though I do love the colors, and tend to be drawn to Burton's interpretations, the oompa loompas and Johnny Depps teeth in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory scared me a little.
Easily Wilder's Willy Wonka vs Depp's Willy Wonka.....Wilder's Willy is a classic that gets better every year....Depp's Wilder is fading away in everybody's memory very quickly.
I would have to agree that Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka was, and is my favorite. Both movies are great fun though!
Both are great movies in their own rite. I love both Wilder and Depp and it is hard to compare them given the changes in technology and effects. I can watch either and be equally amused.
The original, of course! I think i'll go out and buy some chocolate now!
The classic Wonka was fantastic, but I'm pretty partial to Burton's style. He's so weird and intriguing.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
