Windows 7 home premium or professional; 32 or 64 bit?

Hi britto the Pentium 4 is a legacy processor,or in other words its no longer supported ... however there are a few upgrades you can carry out to make the pc a little better, however its what upgrades you get which are important the 1.2gb of ram is the most obvious choice, and you should be looking at 3gb at least when running windows 7,however many older pc,s will only physically support 2gb,so if this is the case then upgrade to 2gb ( or as much as your pc,s motherboard can handle ) the graphics card you need will more than likely be a "agp" card since most older Pentium 4 based pc. S used these cards instead of the newer pci-express x16 graphic cards ( found in more modern pc,s ) .... a good inexpensive agp to consider is the "EVGA GeForce 6200 300MHz 512MB AGP DVI"( http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-geforc... ) ... this would work well with a Pentium 4 based pc and at £32 its not too expensive you could also consider a inexpensive 30gb ssd ( solid state drive ) which would be bug enough to accommodate windows 7 .. you can then install your programs, games and files on your main mechanical hard drive .... a cheap ssd to consider is the "OCZ Recertified as New Vertex Plus SATA II 2.5" 30GB Solid State Hard Drive "( http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/compo... ) however you would need to check if your motherboard has a sata port ... if not then you won't be able to do this upgrade ... but if you can this upgrade would yield the best performance boost and ssd,s work better with windows 7 ( due to the trim support which keeps your ssd at its optimal performance ) ok there will be some answers which recommend you sell the pc or don't bother upgrading, however ive upgraded many older pc,s for mates and family ( including Pentium 4 pc,s ) and with some creative thinking and wise upgrades you can actually get some extra performance and speed to these older computers to check how much ram your pc can handle and which memory it supports go to http://www.crucial.com/uk and run the "Crucial System Scanner Tool" which after scanning your pc will show a report on which memory is best and most compatible for your pc and also the maximum amount of ram it will support it will also show you what ( if any ) solid state drives your pc supports ... but if theres no results for ssd this indicates your pc does not have any sata port and thus cant use ssd,s finally theres a excellent tool from Microsoft which can scan your pc and inform you what upgrades you need to do to run windows 7 .. the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor"( http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor ) is free to download and you then need to run the tool ...... this will essentially give you all the information you need I hope this helps ...any questions let me know good luck mate!

If the pc does what you want then an upgrade is A) pointless and B) might cause more problems than it cures. I am still using XP simply because I like it. In all honesty, a simple format and reinstall of XP (after making sure you back up all the info you want to keep) can speed a machine up more than anything else and 1,2 Gb of ram is not really enough to get the best out of a newer OS, I am also guessing the old motherboard does not have PCI-E so I fail to see where a graphics upgrade would help, unless the one you are using is quite old and low on video memory.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
