I think it's the fact that 65% who oppose unions and collective bargaining might actually be able to tell the 35% how it's going to be whether they like it or not. Think about it. The only people who support unions and collective bargaining are old farts who retired from unions and young people and their spouses who currently are in one.
Unions were necessary in the past due to slave labor working conditions, but today we have labor boards and lawyers to keep employers in line. Unions today are simply guilty of extortion. A $5 an hour worker, can't afford to buy a $20 an hour car so what's the best option?
Well democrats think the best option is to raise minimum wage, but this only causes inflation. The best option is to reduce salaries at the top and the only way to do that is to bust the unions. Why should a very small segment of society receive benefits such as pension, and healthcare plans that the rest of us not only don't get, but have to pay for?
Being democratically elected does not give licence to act as a tyrant. The senators are doing their jobs by protecting those who put them in office from tyrannical behaviour by the governor of their state.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
