With so many versions & variations of the bible available how can anyone believe the teachings are accurate?

Too much is made about the gender inclusivity issue. The TNIV is a very scholarly work, and you can rely on the translators to have done a thorough job. The notes in the Study Version are excellent.

The NLT Study Bible is also very good. I would say it is pitched at a lesser academic level than TNIV and ESV. As far as readability goes, the NLT is probably your best bet.

But, as others have said, there is a "trade off" between strict word for word accuracy and readability in today's English. A literal word for word translation is almost unreadable (try looking at an interlinear Bible sometime!) I saw this website ( http://www.bibleselector.com) linked by someone on your previous question. It addresses some of the issues, but when I saw it appeared to be promoting the book 2008 - God's Last Witness, my opinion fell through the floor!

I use the New World Translation that is very accurately translated and written in today's speech.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
