This is a trick I used living in New England and driving air cooled VW buses many years ago. (with rusted out heater boxes, so even the minimal factory heaters didn't work) Pick up a catalytic heater at Walmart, or any sporting goods store. (The kind that uses a propane bottle, but doesn't have an open flame when lit.) Keep a window cracked a bit so that you don't use up all the oxygen in the van (They don't release any carbon monoxide, but can use all the oxygen if the area is too tight.) and either hang it, or set it were it won't be knocked over.
Most use the throw away propane cylinders, or can be connected to a larger propane cylinder. A standard cylinder will run most for about 8 hours and mine used to keep it really toasty all through my bus. (even in front, although it was bolted to the wall behind the front seats in my "59" panel bus and faced to the rear.).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
