Somebody was trying to trap Mister Squirrel, with the possible intent of harming it, so... I think you saved Mister Squirrel, and he went back to his family in the hollow of a tree or in a hole in the ground and told (in squirrel language, of course) his whole little tittering tree squirrel family the bold and adventurous tale of the day he was trapped and facing possible harm, when a giant human being freed him and let him go. Wow. Good job.
You did good.
Even if it wasn't as you said it was wild they are being trapped for a reason. Maybe it was being hunted which if legal is okay. Or maybe the person/persons were going to set it free somewhere else where it won't be a pest.
Or what if it was trapped for a certain reason, for a study that biologists/zoologists do?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
