Would strong, empirical, tangible, or verifiable evidence defeat the purpose of faith?

The only way primitive religion exists today is through the child abuse of forcing it into very, very young children but thanks to better education and growing intellects so many teens are able to discover the truth, throw off the indoctrination and step into the real world! "FAITH: Not wanting to know what is true." - Friedrich Nietzsche Faith consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe. - Voltaire.

You're confused about the nature and applicability of faith. And, for that matter, the nature and applicability of evidence, reason, and logic. The only justification a belief needs is that it MIGHT be true, and it's useful--in the sole judgment of the believer, for purposes decided by the believer--to act as though it's true.

If you claim a belief is "unjustifiable," then you are claiming you can prove it false. In that case, present your proof, or shut up. Reason and logic are both useful to believers, for determining usefulness and consistency.

But an inability to prove something true doesn't mean it's not true. If you want us to act as though it's false, you have to prove it false. Circular reasoning is another concept you apparently do not understand.

It means constructing or accepting a proof which depends on assuming true what it purports to prove. As beliefs are only useful for cases where there IS no proof, circular reasoning is of no use either in justifying or in rejecting beliefs. As for the "Bronze Age book," what's written in it is useful if we find a use for it, as with any other source.

And we might well find its content useful to us, whether or not you do. If you're running around claiming our beliefs are "unjustifiable," then we don't have to worry about circular reasoning, because you're the one assuming the burden of proof by that claim. As for faith, unless you're prepared to argue that faithlessness is better, I suggest you avoid the term.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
