My supposition is that humans would be speaking less, which would force them to think more about what they did say.
Not initially anyway. I'd say more like Mayhem and Madness would be the initial response. It'd take awhile before calm and quiet would prevail.
True, mayhaps, but I think the end product would be worth the path to get there. Schelli 1 month ago .
It would be filled with the sound of me swearing, and people desperately looking for pay phones. Cell phones may increase the overall noise, but they also increase signal. Cell phones are used to find out stuff: getting directions, stating arrival times, finding each other.
The world is not a better place with people finding out less stuff. The world is a better place where people are polite and aware of their surroundings, and using their voices at an appropriate volume.
As to this "Cell phones are used to find out stuff: getting directions, stating arrival times, finding each other. I can feel the intelligence of the people around me slipping.

Not any more. If we had nipped it in the bud 20 years ago, then maybe. But if you took peoples' cell phones away NOW - it would make them more nervous and more voluble and louder than they already are.
Further, there a millions of people who have dropped their land line service and ONLY have cell service. Are you promoting that they should be cut off from the world? .
I am sure people who have given up land lines can quickly and easily get them back. Schelli 1 month ago .
Don't be. At least not at a reasonable price. The big companies are phasing out land lines.
It sounds like to me you just need ear plugs, stay in a sound proof room forever, be a hermit and live in a remote place away from people and take a pill.
It like people that live in the city complain about the noise or something.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
