It would if.... It would if I was against the war...at least I think it would. I can understand that this "thank you" from the Kurds is directed toward Americans....It should be directed to the soldiers and the soldier's families. As we all know, a hard core anti - war person could care less about a video like this.
They are against war just to be against it. Forget about all the awful things that happened to the Kurds, the libs will gloss right over that one. Anyway, to answer your question, it would if I was against the war, but not if I were a lib who was just against war to feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Sometimes just a thank you is all you need. Sources: LIFE .
The plural of "anecdote" is not "data" This is a couple of dozen people saying "thank you". People living largely alone, far away from the primary area of conflict, and who would have already started their own separate country if Turkey (our ally) weren't so adamant against it. I suspect that the 34,000 Iraqis dead by violence in 2006 alone would like to make a video that also ends in "k you" but starts very differently.
I'm sure at least some of the families of the 3,550 dead American soldiers would also like to make a video. But I've seen you dismiss them as "whackos", so what do they matter? Please... what would possibly make you think that a few cheerful little smiles are possibly going to change any minds?
This is an enormous conflict with massive regional and global implications, consisting of many sides and numerous fragile coalitions. Why would you trivialize this conflict to have me believe that a few cheerful Kurds in any way represent an adequate picture of what's going on? Believe it or not, I already knew that the Kurds were happy to have Saddam gone.So does everybody who is opposed to the war.
We're well aware that some good has been done. We just refuse to shut our eyes to the enormous harm that has also been done. I don't know what the best course of action is in this conflict, but if you're taking your opinions of it from videos like this, I don't believe you do either.
No. This war was an illegal war of agression. It was illegal under international law and it was immoral.
Forced democracy cannot work, and the results of this calous war are yet to be felt.
No Because I already have a positive view of the results of our efforts in Iraq: 1. A ruthless dictator has been deposed (mission accomplished) 2. The population has a voice in their government (other than screaming as they are executed and thrown into a mass grave).3.
There is more economic opportunity for the Iraqi everyman than ever before. 4. There has been less loss of military life in this war than any war of it's length in history.5.
The influx of Islamist militants into Iraq has allowed for a very effective "corral and kill" strategy. Their casualties have been conservatively estimated in the tens of thousands.6. The rate of voluntary enlistment in the armed services is higher than ever, as is the rate of reenlistment of veterans that have been deployed to combat.
They must see something the MSM does not report.7. The efforts of the coalition in Iraq has emboldened conservatives in Europe to examine their own policies regarding the Islamist surge in their countries.8. The coalition successes in Iraq have flushed Iran and it's true intentions out of the shadows and into the daylight for all to see.
The world can now deal with the engine of the Caliphate proponents.9. The congressional Democrats and RINOs that practice "finger in the wind" politics have been exposed for their bankruptcy and duplicity and now can be dealt with by their constituencies. " "The war. " "What is your answer to the Iraq/ Afghanistan War situation? " "What constitutes a civil war?
Is Iraq going through one right now? " "Who is the enemy in Iraq war? " "Is the war in Iraq a political war, an economic war, or a religous war?
" "what are the top reviewed books on the war in Iraq so far? " "War, what is it good for?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
