Voting helpful on another answer in a thread you have answered too is not an admission of defeat or an admission that you do not have the best answer. Only the asker or the voters will decide that in the end not the helpful votes. I will vote helpful as objectively as I can even if I have answered the question as URL1 main objective is to be as helpful to the person who asked the question as possible.
I don't always get back to the thread to vote but when I do get back to the thread and find other helpful answers I vote them accordingly. I want to use a recent example. I had noticed another new user was asking "How do you earn Mahalo Dollars" a question I have often answered.
I opened the question and added 2 dollars in tip money to make sure the question got the attention it deserved. (mahalo.com/answers/anonymous/how-do-u-ea... How do you earn Mahalo Dollars) Then while formulating my answer @opher posted an answer first. S answer was close to perfect I thought so I voted helpful immediately after posting mine and reading his.
This put his question firmly on top and to me it was not an admission of defeat it was a simple declaration of "I think the answer is helpful" nothing more or less. I don't always do this, I am not morally perfect, but I do *try* to keep in mind that the overall objective here at Mahalo Answers is to be as helpful as possible to the people around me and not myself. I try to put others before myself.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
