Would you have a lavish dinner at Le Cirque in New York, just as PGMA & her entourage did, while the whole nation mourns for Cory Aquino?

Never will I take her lead, even if I happened to be the one who holds the highest power in the country. Those who follow and support Arroyo are puppets who are drunk with power and have high political ambitions. Instead of spending too much on a luxurious dinner, she could've at least saved the funds and gave it to the Cory and Ninoy Aquino's foundation that is dedicated to helping the poor, giving scholarships to those who could not afford, as well as helping the small and medium entrepreneurs.

But with Arroyo's attitude, it's not a surprise at all for her to spend that much for luxury, using our country's money. We don't even know if all the money she is reporting to have been used during her travels, were really used in a good way. Even her husband Mike Arroyo uses the government's money to pay for a 1 million per night luxury suite during his personal travels.... so what's new?

If you have heard about the reports of the investigative journalists, even her assets are being questioned because it rose over a hundred percent, for the whole duration of her presidency, and she did not declare all of her assets at that, or the company that she and her husband are connected with. And yet she wouldn't admit ever laundering money. After she spent that much money on a single dinner with her entourage, she did not even have the courage to go to Cory Aquino's wake at the time when people were there, she has chosen to go to the wake when everyone hardly noticed she came by.

Cory Aquino wasn't just a simple ex-head-of-state, she was the mother of Philippine Democracy, for that alone she deserves the ultimate respect, even from the encumbent president. But even when President Cory was still alive, Gloria Arroyo already ordered to have her security personnels removed, simply because Aquino called her to step down. I guess she just went there for the fear that people might go against her all the more, if she did not do so.

Yes, I would. Lot's of people die every day, let alone every week. The death of an ex-leader of a foreign country is scarcely reason to change one's social plans.

However, Mrs. Arroyo cared enough to go to Manila, so she must have a political reputation to keep up in the Philippines. For her it may have been unwise to party shortly beforehand.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
