Not as a life long career choice but for a photo shoot sure. I can't see letting my sons be photographed as hurting them at all and it would be good income for their benefit. A tv show I think I'd decline.
Acting at a young age tweaks a kids mind in my opinion.
No, I would not allow my child to attend a casting call if they were asked to attend. The reason is that I used to live across the street from a family that really wanted their daughter to be an actress. She attended modeling classes, dance classes, and acting classes, and had an entire photography portfolio and had an agent.
The agent sent her to auditions all the time, but in the end, it always seemed the it would cost them more money. Each time they sent her to an audition, they would suggest a new thing such as an extra acting class or a newer photo shoot. By the time we moved from the neighborhood, the poor child was good enough at acting to make the school play, and had lots of pretty photographs, but never found an acting job or a modeling job.
I still haven't seen her on the Disney channel, even though their agent promised to fly them to Los Angeles for interviews with Disney. I guess I am a little skeptical. I know that some children do "make it" in Hollywood.
But, for the most part, it's a pipe dream that is limited to a select few. In addition, the child actors and actresses don't seem to be faring well these days (i.e. , Lindsay Lohan).
Thank you for asking.
Yes as long as the Agent believed in them enough to pick up the tab. And the show wasn't to provocative or something stupid like some of these reality shows. My kid would never be on Jersey Whore.
If the child really wanted to do it, I probably would. I wouldn't mind spending a little bit of money on it either, as you could probably just consider it entertainment. I wouldn't want the child's hopes to get too high too fast, but it would still be an eye opening experience for them nonetheless.
While I've never attempted to do anything entertainment related, I find TV shows like Entourage to be pretty fascinating. I think learning about the entertainment industry can give you a good snapshot of how a section of America chooses to live out their lives. Even if the child decided it wasn't for them, it could be beneficial for them to spend a day or two with other young children who do nothing but tour and audition; tour and audition; tour and audition.
There's nothing like a bit of perspective to help you appreciate what you have.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
