Would you rather exist as a spiritual being in the after-life or not exist at all?

I'm hoping to become a spiritual being... Not some kind of a fancy angel or anything...just a spirit...like a 'poof' of a cloud...flitting around somewhere up there, watching over my loved ones on earth...and reuniting with all those who have already died. And I hope that will include all of our pets past, too. While the human body is fit and healthy, it's great to have one...but once it gets old and diseased, it might be a bonus not to have to deal with having one.

Weird thing, though...every time I've had a visit from a dead relative, I see them as they were in life...not in an altered state. They never say a word...but they do give me a message. It doesn't happen very often, but on occasion, I've had visits from my aunt, my dad, my grandfather and my mom. It's amazing how comforting the encounters are.

So, I have to assume that our souls will continue to exist..I sure hope there's something to look forward to in the afterlife...just ceasing to exist would be kind of empty and sad... I would find it more meaningful to exist than not The fact is, you already DO exist as a spiritual being. You have simply taken on a physical form which eventually will be set aside. As for the religious aspects, they are not essential because they are man-made and are changing all the time as man becomes more enlightened.

However, the spiritual side remains eternal and unchanging. You might think of it as 'electricity' which lights up all the lightbulbs in the city. There are many bulbs (physical form) but only one electricity (Spirit).

By the way, when you are asleep and have dreams, you are functioning in a non-physical state. You still have your thoughts and emotions, you are still 'you', and can find yourself just as alive in your dreams as in your waking state. This would bring you to the conclusion that our concept of life as a reality is also a dream too.

Why? Because what we think of as solid and permanent is nothing of the kind, for all physical form is based on vibratory rate of particles, atoms, on through to the tiniest of elements (ask a scientist about this. I'm not one).

It's a matter of thinking it all out and understanding your place in the scheme of things, but that's another topic.

I think that I would definitly want to exist as a spiritual being in the after life - But, I do believe that when we go to heaven (because I do believe in heaven), we will be given a new, perfect, glorified body, which I am very much looking forward to. According to the Bible, in heaven there will be no sickness, no tears, no more pain - I am not looking forward to death, but that sounds pretty good to me.

I think I'd rather continue on as a spirit, but you're correct... there could be drawbacks to that which would make it a living hell. But, since I know we just go poof when we die, it's a moot point.

I want to live forever, light up the sky like a flame! I gotta tell ya, I am counting on being a spiritual being in the after-life. I really got a bum deal out of this one...lol!.
