India steel industry is much older than China . It is 400 years old and it is the 10th largest steel producer in the world. It employs 0.5 millions of Indians.

China integrated steel works was not founded in China until 1978 and now it is the #1 largest steel producer industry in the world. The China industry employs 3 million Chinese.
China and India have a large demand for steel. China has a greater economic growth than India and China plans to build steel J. V in United States.
China steel economy is expected to increase 10% this year. Both countries were fortunate because their steel industries did not suffer from the global recession. A major shift occured during the month of April,2010 when China steel production increases by 27% while India production rose by 1.8%.
The India government continue to pour millions into the steel industry despite the small increase.
