The best screen capture utility, for pc and for mac, right now is Jing. It is a free app, although the time allowed is 5 minutes max. jingproject.com.

Is there a better program that is free? And if not, what would be the reccomended to buy. Lastly, Would it be wise to send in a sample of say the third level of the game im interested in doing a walkthrough on?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
