(See details) Today when I logged into my private email I had a notice from Askville that ____ (I have purposely omitted the name, but it was a newbie), had answered one of my questions. So I went to that particular question to read the new answer and vote on it. When I got there I found out that no one new had answered the question, and that ____ was not someone who had already answered it.
Since in their "notification of question answered" email Askville always gives you the option to compliment the answerer I clicked on the address to "Send compliment". That took me to this newbie's website on Askville.(S)he has NO information provided whatsoever, but (s)he has 75 gold coins. This particular newbie has not asked or answered any questions yet, so of course they have no compliments either.
My question is, how could this happen? Did "newbie" start to answer and then abandoned their answer, but somehow I was sent an answer notification in error anyway? Or what?

1 No, that particular problem has never happened to me personally. But most time when I get a message in my inbox, it doesn't show up in 'recent activity'. I just click on the inbox & there they are.
I just have to keep checking it. It also takes a while for the notification to get to my personal email. There are glitches in the system, that's for sure.

4 I haven't had that happen, but did have a similar 'glitch' occur yesterday...I got an email message from Askville stating that ______ had just sent me a private message. When I logged in to Askville and checked my mailbox, there were no new messages. That's odd, I thought.
I guess there's something going around...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
