Do nothing. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. You shouldn't feel like you didn't deserve the high grade, there is a reason that person felt you deserved the grade there is no reason on this earth that you shouldn't be proud of it.
If you really want to know why you got the grade then tell the professor that you were surprised that you got such a high grade on the assignment and I am sure it will get the ball rolling and the professor will explain. Good job!
I had this problem when I was in high school. Once I hit college, that problem ended, though. I did very well in high school, honors student, never acted out, etc., so it got to the point where sometimes I'd be lazy with assignments just because I knew I could be, and it was almost like the instructors didn't even both to read the assignment I had completed.
Then I think about this... you get out of education what you put into it. First, think of this... the instructor could be grading on a curve. Maybe the answers or assignment wasn't that great, but perhaps compared to the others who completed the assignment, it was one of the better ones.
The most important part of an education is that you learn, not so much that you regurgitate that information back on a piece of paper for an assignment. The grades aren't nearly as important as whether or not you can use the information you learned from doing the assignment and actually got something out of it. If you did, then the grade just doesn't make a difference and I'd let it go.
Obviously you know more than you thought. Perhps it's time to have a little more faith in your abilities. Obviously the person marking your paper does.
I would not tell the professor that I felt like I didn't deserve the grade. If, however, this was a higher grade than I typically received, I would talk to the professor about what caused my paper/test/etc. To receive such a good grade. That way, I could focus on the elements I did well and strive to match them in the future.
Odds are that your professor gave you the grade because you did deserve it, you just need to understand why.
That happened to me last semester, I got an A, and I really didn't do too much to deserve it. I was happy I got it, because usually I bust my ass, and end up with barely a C when I did B or even better work, and get higher test grades than C. Who would complain that there grade is too high?
I don't know anyone who would.
Think of the undeserved high grade as canceling out some other cases where you received a grade which was less than what you deserved.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
