My favorite holiday movie is A Christmas Story. My family used to sit with snacks all together in the living room watching it every Christmas season. It was one of the rare times that we all sat down and laughed together.
Now that my parents and 1 brother are both gone, I still watch it, with my husband. We curl up together with hot chocolate and Chex Mix and just sit quietly, remembering my family and enjoying our time together. A Christmas Story is a great family movie, I've been watching it since I was a young child. It has a lot of meaning for myself and my memories as a child, growing up trying to make ends meet but not realizing that we didn't have much money.
My parents always made the holidays great for us. We didn't have much, but we had each other, and sometimes that is all you need. I live 2,000 miles away from my other brother, he still watches it and we talk afterwards.
I haven't been able to get home for the holidays in a few years, but I still have the memories and keep as many traditions as I can going.
Even though it is not my favorite I would agree with the Christmas Story. On Christmas Eve there is a 24 hour marathon of the Christmas Story and my son watches all 24 hours of it. Even now that he is 28 years old if he is able and doesn't have to work he will watch all 24 hours of it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
