About how often do you change your askville avatar?

Presto, chango! Ummmm...kind of regularly! I try to keep the same basic avatar, but change it for holidays, seasons, if I'm traveling, etc. Right now it's my standard Victorian girl with Mickey Mouse ears for Marshall, as he found out he's having some surgery soon and he is a big Disney fan.

We've used the color avatars for some of the other cancer situations, so I thought the mouse ears would help represent Marshall the best. Other avatars I've used: For Boxing Day! (the Askviller named boxing, not the holiday!

) When I was in Florida! One of my Askville friends thinks I'm the Queen so I went royal! For my 25th Wedding Anniversary we went to Tahquamanon Falls so I wore this then!

Another fun "reaction" avatar, when someone referred to the Askville "Grand Poohbah" so I had fun with the Poohbah hat! I went to Vegas and Poppet let everyone know! And then there was the trip to the White House.... The painting convention in Ohio..... And my birthday!

There are more, but this is probably enough for now... When I picked my avatar, I didn't realize how versatile it would be, and I never expected to use it forever, but it's worked really well for adapting to all kinds of things here! And I hear about it when I change away from the little girl image! So I will just stick with it, I guess, until I run out of things to do with it.

The three of them are battling cancer, and in addition to being a tiny token of our love for them, every small gesture that raises awareness of that disease increases the chances that more cures and better treatments will be found. And right now, I am: This avatar is most like me in real life - a nerd with taped glasses, so I’ll probably stick with it for a while. I used to change it every Friday When I got here over a year ago, we had two dogs, 4 indoor cats and two outdoor kitties...and a picture of Smokey, a much missed cat from years ago... So, not wanting to play favorites, I would use a different pet for my avatar each week... Then, I got to thinking...as the Askville site grew...that I found it confusing when someone I liked changed their avatar...I had trouble finding them or spotting their questions and answers...so... I decided to stick with Smokey...so she remains my permanent avatar...hmmm probably for a good year now. Now, I find it very confusing when everyone changes their names and avatars so often...but, that's just me. Is it your pet?

I have two For the longest time I had a photo of the Trevi Fountain that I took while on vacation in Rome. Then one of our fellow askvillers had a run with Cancer and was undergoing Chemo. We all turned into the color orange to support her.

For a while there almost all of us we were orange in color or had the word "orange" in our names. I turned into an orange kitten you now see and got so many compliments that I just decided to keep it. And by the way our friend Carla is doing great now.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
