Qualitative analysis is useful for determining the species present. How you do cation analysis these days I don't know but when I was at school you could use hydrogen sulphide, I'm sure this is not acceptable now. However you could go through a series of tests to find the metallic ions present.
Then there was another series of tests to find the anion. These were relatively simple tests which could be completed quickly, indicating which ions were present. Similarly in organic chemistry, combustion is a common analalytical tool.
This will give you the ratio of atoms present but not the final formula. However it is more quantitative than qualitative. Qualitative analysis will give you the actual amounts of species present.
Which is obviously very important. However quantative tests in general take longer to perform. So it depends on which information you want as to which type you need.
They are fast No set amount of sample is needed Modern techniques are accurate and non-destructive so don't destroy the sample.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
