Probably. Michael Cole, to my knowledge, wrestles about once every three or four years in matches that last less than 30 seconds, so I certainly wouldn't head into Wrestlemania with high hopes for a technically satisfying contest. But that's not what this match is about, just like that wasn't what Bret Hart against Vince McMahon was about.
These matches are (were) about two blood rivals meeting to finally settle a pair of long-simmering feuds. There were two chief reasons why Hart vs. Vince fell flat last year: Bret went ridiculously, stupidly overboard with the chair shots (so much so that by the end no one in the stadium was cheering and it was just kind of awkward) and that they just waited too long. The WWE caters to a young fan base, and most of them had no idea who Bret Hart even was, let alone what the Montreal Screwjob was.
Yes, the older fans got it but the younger ones didn't. That was only exacerbated when the whole Hart family came out. I've been watching wrestling for years and I was in the building that night, but I had no idea who half those people were.
I think though, that Cole vs. Lawler will be more entertaining and generally more satisfying. It's a very recent feud, everyone loves Lawler and right now everyone despises Cole, and I think everyone in the wrestling world is looking forward to the end of this whole gimmick for Cole after 'Mania. So from that point, I am very much looking forward to seeing Cole get trounced by The King.
Yes, but keep in mind the Bret Hart v Vince was done soley for the purpose of revenge. It was never meant to be a classic, just a match so we could all cheer for Bret Hart getting his revenge over Vince for the Montreal incident. I agree Lesnar v Goldberg was one of the biggest let downs ever....I was looking forward to that match, then it was rubbish cause neither of them cared.
As far as Cole and Lawler goes.....remember Cole is not a wrestler. It is happening because the fans hate Michael Cole because he's so irritating, so they'll just cheer and enjoy watching Lawler beat the hell out of him. It isn't meant to be a classic wrestling match, but I will enjoy seeing Stupid Michael Cole get his butt kicked!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
