Unless there is something very wrong with them, your parents are almost always the two people who know you best, and only have your best interests in mind. Sure, they were brought up in a different time, but they also have experience, and again- if anyone is looking out for you, it will likely be those two people. Don't think you necessarily know better.

Listen to their objections, and go away to consider why they have them. You may find they have seen something in your future you cannot. It's always better to find that out BEFORE you marry the wrong person.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
