Am I the only American who really has no idea who is Billy Mays or what he did to make his death front page news?

Well if you don't watch infomercials or pay attention to tv commercials, you might not have known who he was.

Mcarthur01 is partially right, about how others don't know who he is, but that does not mean that he was annoying, that's just someones opinion. He was a pitchman, he was very good at these commercials. I think he was very good and nice.

He had a nice voice. NOT ANNOYING!

Billy Mays was on TV for several years as a commercial pitchman for OxyClean and OrangeGlo cleaning products. He really got into it, and so he got people to pay attention to him like few other commercials. People really got into watching his commercials because they were so animated.

He wasn't boring like other commercials. He was really proud of his work on TV and gave out samples of the stuff to all of his friends and visitors. Apparently, he's just died of heart disease.

The day before, he said that something hit him in the head on an airplane that had a turbulent landing.

No, other americans without tv's won't know him either :) he was the annoying infomercial king...

Well if you own a tv then you may be the only American with a tv who doesn't. Alot of people may not immediately put his name to his face but once you see his pic you may recognize him from numerous infomercials.

Billy Mays is the biggest if not most important person in the info commercial industry his face and voice make the product jump out to the comsumer and make them nore persuaded to buy it.. love oxy clean.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it but I'm sure it's mildly entertaining.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
